Biography

Antoni Wrona — cellist, soloist and chamber musician, and a student at the Franz Liszt University of Music in Weimar under the guidance of Prof. Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt, as well as at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, studying with Prof. Tomasz Strahl and Prof. Marcin Zdunik. In 2025, he became a scholarship holder of the “Elite” programme in Paris, where he studies under the supervision of Prof. Henri Demarquette.

He is, among others, the winner of the 1st prize at the 15th Michał Spisak International Music Competition (2025), 2nd prize at the 22nd Kiejstut Bacewicz International Chamber Music Competition in Łódź in a duo with Aleksandra Janusz (2025), 3rd prize at the 12th Witold Lutosławski International Cello Competition in Warsaw (2024), as well as the winner of the 11th National Dezyderiusz Danczowski Cello Competition in Poznań (2023) and the 12th Jan Vychytil International Cello Competition in Prague (2018).

He has been nominated for the “Koryfeusz of Polish Music 2024” award in the Discovery of the Year category, as well as for the “Polityka Passports” in 2025 in the Classical Music category.
